Identification of Binocular Vision Dysfunction (Vertical Heterophoria) in Traumatic Brain Injury Patients and Effects of Individualized Prismatic Spectacle Lenses in the Treatment of Post-concussive Symptoms: A Retrospective Analysis
Published in the PM&R Journal, April 2010
Objective: To identify a form of binocular vision dysfunction (vertical heterophoria) in a
traumatic brain injury (TBI) population and to assess the effect of individualized prismatic spectacle lenses on postconcussive symptoms.
Conclusions:
- TBI can cause VH.
- Treatment with prismatic lenses led to a 72% subjective reduction of post-concussive symptoms.
- Treatment lasted on average 3 1/2 months.
