The number and severity of symptoms are different for each person. Some people are disabled; others aren’t bothered much.

Many people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) develop a small amount of eye misalignment from their injury that cause these symptoms.

What is the solution?

NeuroVisual Specialists have made pioneering discoveries into the diagnosis and treatment of Binocular Vision Dysfunction. Our patients undergo a detailed and thorough examination of their vision, including assessment for small amounts of vision misalignment (the NeuroVisual Evaluation). Near vision, far vision and Vision alignment problems can be corrected with prism lenses. Prism lenses can bend beams of light, and can redirect the image (red dotted arrow) onto the center of the back of the eye (the fovea (big red arrowhead)) while the eye is in it's original, slightly misaligned position (black arrow). Since there is no need to realign the eye, there is no overuse of the eye muscles, which markedly reduces or eliminates the symptoms of Binocular Vision Dysfunction.

STORIES OF TRIUMPH over a common but often unrecognized visual ailment: Binocular Vision Dysfunction

By Debby Feinberg O.D. with Mark Rosner M.D. & Sherry Brantley

Who would have thought that a basic eye alignment problem could cause a person to be miserable or disabled? Yet that is exactly what is happening with Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD), a visual condition where there is a slight image misalignment which causes headaches, dizziness, anxiety, neck pain and reading difficulties. Using techniques developed by Dr. Debby Feinberg (founder of NeuroVisual Medicine), patients are fit with prism eyeglass lenses that realign the images, resulting (on average) in an 80% reduction of symptoms.

This book contains the stories of those suffering from BVD, their difficult journey through life and the medical system, and their recovery and return to health using just a simple pair of properly prescribed prism lenses.
